I have shopped off and on at this station for 20 years, and have NEVER issued this station a bad check. I normally only go in for kerosene or smokeless tobacco for my husband. Day before yesterday I went in and before even looking at my check as I began writng check rude clerk asked me if it was a local check. Da....Watertown Savings Bank 1 block down from station, Then she insisted I write my Drivers license no on check even though I have a Clayton, NY address on check as well as my phone no printed on check. I asked why as I have never written a bad check. I do not want to write drivers license no as identity theifs like to get these no, so I told her I would just use my bank debit card instead. I called store later and was told this was not necessary. Then today I went in, was treated just as rudely again, so the same rude clerk went to ask Mike Buker their boss and she came back and said since I have a Clayton address I did not have to. Then she made some lame excuse and said the reasons she asked before was because my check then had a Chamont address. Not possible as it was same bank and I have no checks w/Chamont address. If local businesses want to know why people go to Walmart it is because you get treated like crap when you shop locally. Had I ever written a bad check I would understand this policy, but I have not. At least when you go to Walmart you do not get hasseled without justification. If you want to shop locally I suggest you go to Victorian where clerks are much less rude.
Pros: I love their wings! Most of the time they are really tasty. Convenient place to grab snacks, gas, pizza, lotto, beer etc. Usually friendly customer service!
Cons: The cheese pizza is usually bland or over done, not sure if it's the employees fault or the way they make the pizza but either way not a fan of it. (I've even waited for it to finish cooking and still had this issue). I also dealt a few times with staff unsure what they were doing, 2 times where they thought they gave the food I ordered away to someone else.
